Beetles – Pest Control

Hide beetle and Carpet beetle are a common pest in Edinburgh houses. They usually are found in kitchens, where the beetles feed on food crumbs. Beetles live and breed in dark areas, such as under cupboards and appliances. It is important to clean up any food debris and remove pet food when your pets have finished eating.

Adult Hide beetles are 5-12mm long and oval shaped. The larvae can be up to 14mm long and look like a small centipede.

Carpet beetles are 2-4mm long, and have a brown body with yellow or white mottled marks.

Approved insecticides are the best way to completely get rid of beetles in your house. Our professional exterminators will need to carry out 2 treatments.

We had a problem of wasps in our house and contacted Barricade for pest control service. Adam from Barricade who visited was astute at his job, studied the site very carefully and dealt with the situation very well. It turned out to be a massive wasp nest in the attic which Adam addressed with great caution, making us aware of all the risks and explained all precautionary measures in a thoughtful manner. He treated the nest with necessary spray and we could see a difference in just a couple of hours - the wasp colony got completely quiet and none have appeared since. It has been a highly effective and professional service.
